nifty thrifty

I've snagged quite a few amazing deals the past few months, so I thought I'd share my bargaining prowess with everyone in blog land.

Keep in mind that I live only about 10 minutes away from the greatest mall in the DFW area (and possibly Texas- haha!) - Northpark Center. Not only can you find Forever 21 and Gap, but also Valentino, Kate Spade, and Oscar de la Renta. And when you have a small baby, in the middle of really hot Texas summer weather, or really cold Texas winter, the mall is the greatest place to go walk. On my frequent walks there, I tend to "window shop," thus spotting good deals and possibly venturing inside stores with the huge stroller, diaper bag, etc. I dread doing this, so I mostly stick to speed walking and window shopping.

My #1 shopping tip- always shop the sale rack in the back! More often than not, I find what I had my eye on 2 months ago, on sale, in the back!

It was on one of my lovely strolls (aka akwardly squeezing through tiny aisles with a travel-system stroller) through Loft's sale that I found the following items. Both were already heavily discounted with a 40% discount on top of that.

Pinkish/taupe lacey dress: $4.95, normally $89

Purple blouse: $3.00, normally $49

My next great find was at Ann Taylor (normally a bit too formal/older-woman-ish for me), but I still decided to see what they had to offer. I found this really cute gray knit dress. I wear it with a brown belt and nude heels. Love!

$15, normally $138.

Next find- Kensie sweater top from Dillards - on sale already, then found a snag on the front and asked sales lady if I could get a discount, which she did, and it totaled $14. Yes, I'm a teacher, and yes, that was a run-on sentence. (I fixed snag immediately when I got home)

(It looks a lot better on the model than on my bed!)

These next two are my favorite!!!

Gap city flats, $2.99, normally $39.50. Woo hoo! They have this really comfy bubble-feeling sole that squishes when you walk and keeps your arches in place.

Banana Republic Handbag Collection purse: $13 (50% off of sale price of $27), normally $180

I was beyond excited when I found this deal. I was in great need of a new purse, since my old one stinks of spilled rotten formula from Asher's bottle. I kicked myself when I got home for not buying all 3 they had in the store, to give out as presents or sell on ebay for a ridiculous profit! Oh well...next season!

Yay for great deals! I really don't like spending money, so when I find something of quality that's even cheaper than Walmart, I go for it!
