I've been having too much fun putting together a living room for a couple close to my heart.
Some things to remember if you're looking to redecorate: Splurge on what you'll use the most- couch, chairs, and rugs. Maybe a pillow or two. Save on the extras! Thrift or Home-Goods the frames, lamps, accessories, etc. Most of all, do what you want! Add a bright color (or three), go for the chevron print, throw together a gallery wall if you have way too many pictures of your kids, chalk-paint that old cabinet you hate, and don't forget to layer in texture. Love purple? Go for it!
If you're working with a budget (who isn't!) work with what you got! In this case, a yellow lamp, a white bookshelf, and light gray walls.
