Spring Bucket List

Springtime is almost here! 8 days away.... My pansies are in full bloom, the birds are keeping me company with their sweet songs, and the lawn is in desperate need of weeding and mowing!

I have a full week off of work, definitely a gift from God, since I'm 38 weeks pregnant and super worn out. I saw this darling little "Spring Bucket List" on a blog today (above), and it inspired me to make some goals for the next few months, as well as celebrate what I've done so far this spring. Here goes...

Get my little Hallie's room finished. CHECK!  (Here's a sneak peak)

Here is my original design board for her room. Still on my list: make the bicycle pillow, which should be easy thanks to a friend who sent me a darling bike iron-on, finish the mobile, and NIX the yellow dresser. Too much yellow, my friends.

Keep fresh flowers in my kitchen, all spring long. Yes please! Status--working on it... these ones have since died.

Make Pioneer Woman's Asian noodle salad. CHECK! Side note- this recipe filled 3 large mixing bowls-waaay more than my family could eat in a reasonable amount of time. Definitely don't mix in the dressing, otherwise your salad won't keep. Mix the dressing into your individual portions when you're ready to eat. Looks like we'll be eating this for lunch and dinner the next few days! (It really is delicious)

Make peach cobbler- CHECK! Thanks to Walmart for your cobbler mix and yummy canned peaches. :)

Have a blueberry pancake morning :) CHECK!

Now on to my bucket list!

Make this lovely wood sign for the mantle.

Write a blog every day- focusing on the joys of our little Layton life :)

Save up some spending money to snag this adorable dress for Hallie. I really just want her to wear dresses every day!

I'm patiently waiting for the day when my laundry detergent runs out so I can make this!

One more. A girl's gotta be honest about what she can accomplish with a 2 year old and newborn in tow! ...which is why this next bucket item is really for my hubby :)

My laundry room is your average, builder-grade garage-entry galley-style laundry room. One plus is that we have both front loader washer and dryer, so we have room to work with shelving, etc. I desperately want a more functional room to do laundry in, so here's hoping hubby is inspired by this picture and can come up with something lovely for me!

Happy Spring, everyone!

  1. Have fun with the DIY washing soap. I make my own too and love it. I do something similar but leave it as the dry form. 1 bar grated soap (I use Ivory) + 1 c. Borax + 1 c. Baking Soda. You should also try making your own dishwasher detergent. Also a big money saver.
