future house proud

Happy Mother's Day! I'm so glad I got to spend yesterday with my mom, and I look forward to spending time with my sweet mother-in-law today!

I can't believe this is my 2nd Mother's Day since Asher was born! Being a mom has been one the most wonderful experience I've ever had- second to being Chris's wife :) I love everything about it, yes- even the sleepless nights, messy floors, and poopy diapers. I wouldn't trade my little boy for the world.

Here are my design plans for our future family room and play room. These design boards aren't fancy like my other ones...these ones were quickly thrown together using what I already have, what I've just bought, and what I plan to make. Very realistic :) I can't wait to compare my before pics and boards with my after pics!

Play room: Vintage/Antique Wind in the Willows framed pictures, horizontal gray/blue stripes, Graige dwell studio fabric hand-sewn curtains, painted red letters spelling "read," 2 cream couches, 8x10 Pottery Barn yellow polka dot rug (Craigslist find in Arkansas- thanks to my bestie Christy for picking it up for me!!!), favorite blue striped chair, Ikea expedit shelves (until hubs can build built-in bookshelves and window seat), PB book rack, and piano handed down from my parents. Love!!!

Family room: White walls, dwell studio fabric curtains and pillows, etsy pillows, PB couch we already have, entertainment center we already have, 2 end tables we already have, 2  teal/blue tufted back comfy chairs I just bought at an estate sale-don't have real pics yet but these drawings are almost identical (BEST FIND EVER!!!), gold mirror I already have, and woven PB poufs I hope to buy with leftover budget money-we'll see. :)

Still to do:
Close on the house! Hah!
Lots of curtains to pinch pleat and hem!
Canton trip to find an awesome hutch or console for the living room.
A million more things I'm sure...

Can't wait to post some lovely after pictures!

  1. Can't wait to see more designs for your house. Keep me posted on how/when the closing goes. We just found out that our house has the start of a foundation. A few months from now we'll be in our new home!
