Finally, some "after" pictures of Asher's room. This was my project over my 2 week Christmas vacation. I sanded, primed, painted, and sealed a plain brown dresser, made several trips to Lowe's for paint, wood, and shelves, a couple trips to my favorite antique mall for some extra goodies, and was able to put together a room that makes me smile.
I tried to stay away from a "theme-y" room, like all zoo animals or sports with basketball sheets, basketball art, and basketball knobs on the dresser. Not my style. It was hard for me to get excited about decorating a BOY room, but I do love eclectic design, so it was a lot more fun than I anticipated. I decided on a navy/gray/white color scheme with pops of red and light blue. One thing I'd love to add later on is our navy and gray striped wing back chair, but for now, I'll keep it safe from Asher in another room. :)

Dresser lovingly handed down from my parents, gave it a fresh coat of paint so it would pop in his room

| Gave husband quote, husband came up with this. Love! |
| Special oil painting from my favorite antique store |
| Chris drew the alien artwork when he was little. I think it's absolutely adorable and adds a sweet touch to Asher's room |
| My sweet hubby framed the world map from Amazon.com; we just need to secure it to the wall a little better. |
| Idea 1: craft corner for under the wall space under the map, with boy colors of course |
| 2nd Idea: paint a ship like this under the map |
| Just chillin' on his favorite animal while momma messes around in his room |

| Daddy relaxing and Asher playing after a whole day of projects for this room. |
I love how his room turned out. If I had more energy, I'd figure out how to sew the curtains into roman shades, because he loves to tug on them and sit in them like a hammock. Another project for another day! I also know the bookshelf looks pretty bare, but there's honestly no such thing as organized arm's reach shelving in a 2 year old's room. All those pictures you see of nurseries looking so cute and organized with their baskets and books in low shelves or furniture- a LIE! The mom probably cleaned for hours before the photographer came over. :)
For now, I can finally enjoy his no-longer-blank-wall room. Thanks to my husband for helping me with so much!
